Looking for Free Blog Traffic? Here Are 4 Powerful Web 2.0 Sites to Drive Free Traffic to Your Blog!

You've got your blog set up, your theme is stunning and your content is Pulitzer Prize quality. You've done everything right but there's just one thing missing - visitors. Don't worry though because this is pretty much what happens to every single blogger when they start out.

The idea they have is rock solid but they have no experience in backlink building or generating traffic to their blog.

There are lots of ways to generate extra traffic and visitors to your blog but my favorite free ways to do this is with Web 2.0 properties.

These allow you to publish your content and ideas online quickly, easily and most importantly for free! If you're serious about your blog and building an online presence then you really need to embrace other Web 2.0 properties like the ones listed below:

1. Facebook

From a website that was first only used on college campuses to the social media monster that became Facebook today. People expect to find you on Facebook now in as much as they expected your business to have a website several years ago.

Facebook allows you to build an almost instant audience that you can then redirect back to your own blog through your status updates or providing snippets of your content on Facebook itself.

2. Twitter

Another surprise hit on the social media circuit was Twitter. Who would have thought that micro blogging could become so insanely popular almost overnight?

Having a Twitter following is an ideal way of getting your blog content out there and attracting new visitors each week and month. You can also get a Twitter plug for your WordPress blog that creates Tweets from your blog posts so you're not duplicating any work. Neat eh?

3. Squidoo

It always amazes me at how very few bloggers actually use Squidoo to build traffic to their site. Squidoo allows you to build a small website (called a Lens) made up of text and video "modules" on almost any topic you can think of.

This is all done in a very point-and-click-and-type sort of way so you won't need any new technical skills to make this happen.

But how can Squidoo help you build traffic to your blog?

Squidoo lenses can rank very well in the major search engines without too much work.
Squidoo allows you to point several links back at your blog.
You can also include your blog feed as part of your Squidoo lens so your blog is getting instant exposure to anyone who finds your Squidoo lens in the search results.

4. Blogger

Last but by no means least is Blogger. Wait though... Blogger is another blogging platform. That's true but Blogger is also owned by Google and if used properly, it can provide some useful and powerful backlinks to your site.

You don't need to create an entirely new blog presence on Blogger - that would be a lot of work! Instead what you can do is post snippets of the information on your main blog there and then link back to the full blog post on your own site.

Do not abuse this or Blogger will shut your account down in a heartbeat and any content you created there will be gone.

So as you can see there are lots of neat ways of creating extra links for your blog that will help increase your natural traffic and your search engine traffic. And it's not going to cost you any more than a few hours of your time.
